(Part two in series - see previously commissioned 'Margate')
The intrepid poet revisits his home town of Canvey Island, with a certain displeasure he vents his own personal recollection of growing up in this microcosm world. This message seems to be translated back to his younger self, who sits alone in his bedroom and is viewing the scene through an old zoetrope toy, spinning the ancient toy, scenes are played out and interlaced through animation in the zoetrope and live action footage, the words of warning echo through to the boy who reacts, in the final scene, by destroying the toy.
Perhaps there is an underlying message from his future self “Don’t get stuck in this old town”
