We created video content for Screamland in the style of movie trailers to give visitors a taste of what they would experience and to encourage early bird ticket sales.
We used dim lighting and smoke machines for a sinister mood and a claustrophobic feel. We also used sound effects to generate excitement and fear.
Now here’s the clever bit. We didn’t film any of the trailers at Screamland! Our brief required us to film at a different location, Scare Kingdom, and so by using a shallow depth of field when filming we ensured that the background was out of focus. This allowed us to create the impression that we were filming in a different location from where we actually were; an example of our creative versatility.
